"Beaded" Top

I love this top with all the sequins, and the faceted beaded earrings looked great with it. I wore it to work, but it would work just as well for dinner out with a sparkly bracelet and a sexier shoe.

Geometrics

Great thrifted cotton dress, perfect for a warm summer weekend. Spent time with friends, sipping Mojitos on the patio. Simple pleasures are sometimes the best.

Walking Shorts

I liked these shorts with the shoes, and this is actually two shirts, layered. All from the thrift store except the shoes.

Black on Black

Black on black, my favorite color! Dress and boots both thrifted. It's the start of a new week and things are still a little shakey but the weekend was gorgeous. Worked on a new handbag design I'm really excited about, and finally locked down a much needed financial puzzle piece. Still feel nervous!

Black & Fushia

This is another one of my favorite colors, Fushia! The skirt with that crazy front zipper and the black sweater were both thrifted, the fushia sweater is from Target. I like how clean and sharp this turned out! They overturned the ban on gay marriage today, odd how anxious gays are to get married, and straights are all getting divorced!

Grey Sweatshirt

Both the sweatshirt and the pants were thrifted, and I like them both a lot! I piled on the necklaces and 2 out of the 3 of them were also thrifted.

This is the last post for the month and have to say it's been my best month this year. Finally got some of my dormant physical creativity out, I am thankful and indebted.

Cropped Pants and Big Belt

It's Tuesday and I just watched the CNN interview with Zack De La Rocha and Tom Morello and the clip of the "Rage Against the Machine" concert last Friday night. Knew people who were there and heard it was the best "Rage" concert they'd ever been to, and we've been to several! Arizona deserves a kick in the balls for their elitest and racist attitude! Have to say this though, the "Immigration Issue" is finally front and center!

Bathing Suit

Went to the beach yesterday so I'm posting a bathing suit picture. Didn't think I had the nerve did you, yeah I was skeptical myself! Flew a kite, & built a sand castle but still haven't been able to get enough sun to tan my legs, which is the only part of my anatomy I actually try to tan. The sun just isn't cooperating this year.

Plaid Shorts

OK, went to the "Renegade Craft Fair" Saturday, it was great to see the crafts that are being produced these days. Truly handmade stuff, no imported mass produced crap, it was refreshing to see all the originality and fun imaginative ideas. I used to do craft fairs and this was very inspiring!

Dress with Leggings

It's Casual Friday again, and Boss is off so I wore the leggings! (first time to work). I hated the leggings trend at first but they're so comfortable. It's been a good day, I think I may have found a solution to some of my financial woes, keep your fingers crossed. Going tonight to an event, and am going to start blogging my evening wear as well. things are looking up! Finally.

Khaki with Eggplant

O.K. this top is a great color and I have an Adolfo hat that matches it! I'll have to show you that sometime. The outfit is somewhat plain but the necklace saved it. Stressing big time today, hoping for a positive development tonight. Sometimes you just have to do your best and hope things work out. I hate worrying about money!

Big Bow

I like this top, but always feel like it needs a beret. Anyway, trying to get back in the swing of things after having taken a bit of a vacation last week, but really needed to take advantage of a great situation that arose! Work is always there, sometimes you just need to have some fun to enable you to face your daily challenges with a positive attitude.

More Gold

Sorry for not having blogged this week, but have been really busy, Gold again but this time with capris. The weather is finally scorching, so I'm really hoping to go to the beach this weekend. A swimsuit picture would be great just don't know if I have the nerve!

Leggings & Boots

It's Saturday and I'm in a very casual mood! The weather is still strange but no complaints. Worked today on my own projects, this coming week I plan to get back into my art again, but have so many work related things to do, that may be wishful thinking!

Levi's

It's Friday again, and this has been a hell of a week! I've had a project that's kept me busy every single day, but have had more fun than I've had in a very long time. Found these 518's, and was really jazzed because they fit so well, even in the length. Cost about $6.00, the top is nude pink silk, also thrifted. Remember to always have fun people, or else what's the point!

Grey Dress

The weather is still pretty gloomy in the mornings ergo the tweed dress, but the afternoons are pretty. The dress wasn't thrifted, but is from last year, however the jewelry all was!

Red Accessories

I know this is intense for 2 days after the 4th of July but it rained this morning, give me a break. The red accessories really saved the day, and even though I don't look it, I ended the day in an extremely happy mood!

Chunky Necklaces

It's Friday the beginning of the 4th of July weekend! I've worn the dress before but this time with the chunkiest thrifted jewelry I could find, even the bracelet. Going out with a friend after work, no set plans but expect to have a great time to kick off the weekend!

It's casual Friday again and I went to Happy Hour after work so I tried to dress them up a bit with the gold top, but didn't really like the way it turned out!

June Gloom!

It's still kind of cold in the mornings but as soon as the hot weather hits we'll be praying for it to stop, so for now this is comfortable weather-wise. Everything but the jewelry was thrifted.

Hot Pink Polka Dots

Hot pink polka dots! This silk top is fun because of the polka dots. You can't see them in the photo but I made the earrings and the pink beads actually papier mache.

Short Short Dress!

This dress is short! I usually wear it with black stockings so its not as noticeable but it's too warm for tights!

"Gold" Bow Peeps!

Here's the next pair of "Bow Peeps"! (my shoe line) These are gold glitter, fell in love with the pointy toe, but the black velvet bows give them a very sophisticated feel. They're NEW, a size 7, and are for sale on my Etsy page at normalindastudios.etsy.com.

Yellow and Black

I don't wear yellow ever, but this top is really more mustard, really it is! Anyway, it's the first day of summer but it was overcast until the afternoon so I was able to wear my Donald J. Pliner boots (thrifted of course!)

Going to the museum today, one of my favorite things to do. There's an Aztec exhibit at the Getty Villa, really excited! Thrifted shorts and sweater.

Casual Friday Boots!

Well, it's casual Friday again and it gives me the chance to wear my favorite boots. They're so piratey! The rest of the outfit isn't but this is as costumey as I get to go to work.

Very Pink Plaid

This top is a hot pink & white plaid, which sounds really terrible but is actually quite nice. I was phenomenally lucky to find a scarf the same color both are chiffon.

Just loved the color of these pants!

Hand-Painted Earrings

I hand-painted these earrings and had to use a magnifying glass! They're polymer with glass beads.

Red Tie-Dye Skirt

Hard to believe I'm wearing tie-dye, swore I wouldn't be caught dead in it, but this skirt has my favorite color combination red and dark pink! I know it's hard to see the fabric from this pic but take my word for it, it's cool looking, and again with the red & black, oh well!

Red & Black Outfit

I can be fickle about my clothes and sometimes I just insist on wearing a particular item and that was the case with these shoes, I really like them and was determined to put an outfit together so I could wear them. Everything is thrifted except the earrings. Voila!

1960's Revisited

Definitely a '60's look! This dress is chiffon with a retro flower print. Wore it to a birthday party over the weekend. I thought the large white earrings helped the 60's feel. The dress was thrifted.

Casual Friday Linen

Well it's casual Friday again! These cropped linen pants are comfortable and cool, but boy do they wrinkle. Worn with a white tee and a cotton jacket. I always make sure I pick up new black and white tee's at the beginning of every season. They're inexpensive, and can be worn with pretty much everything when they're new. After a few washings you'll only want to wear them with more casual week-end wear.

White Cutwork Top

I originally bought this top to use as a bathing suit cover-up, it has beading and beautiful cutwork in the front and on the sleeves. I paired it with capris to wear to work and added the large black earrings that just seemed to balance out the outfit. All items except the earrings were thrifted, including the shoes, which were purchased quite a while ago.

A Little Asian Influence

This top is a favorite because the fit is great! I'm always running across these tops and they're fun to wear because they look sophisticated and are perfect for work, or going out. It's hard to see from the picture but the fabric is gorgeous!

White Summer Dress

This is a great cotton dress with a crocheted top, the first white dress of the season! It's comfortable and I wore the scarf for color. All items even the shoes are thrifted.

Red Dancing Shoes

These red shoes were originally purchased to dance in, they have a sturdy strap and are very 40's looking with a big red button on the side, and a platform. The polka dotted instep makes them really cute! They're on ebay now.
